This 1881 poem represents the popularity of scrapbooking in the late 19th century.
Scapbooking began 1820s and grew in popularity throughout the 19th century and into the 20th century. Men, women, and children used scissors to cut information related to their interests and paste the clippings on recycled paper, re-purposed books, or commercial produced blank scrapbooks.

I could use this in my classroom when I teach about poetry. I can show my students this poem from back in the day and let them see how poems have changed over time, and how the wording is different. And it is also a historical primary source from the late 1800s.
