The author of the Davy Crockett Almanacs, published between 1835 and 1856, is unknown and Crockett probably did not profit from their publication. Editions varied in their contents. Some contain calendars and household recipes. This 1836 edition is mainly images and tall tales that helped to spread the myths of Davy Crocket as a “king of the wild frontier.”
