Livery Stable Ledger/Scrapbook, 1879-1881.

Men, women, and children of all social classes and ethnicities created scrapbooks. Clippings of texts and other ephemera were pasted on recycled paper or books or in commercially available blank scrapbooks.
This example dating from between 1857 and the 1880s was created using an old ledger from a livery stable, a business where horses were boarded or rented. On the left, the original ledger pages are visible.
This scrapbook contains newspaper clippings and a few images such as the trade card for an insurance company at the top. The creator is unknown.
