Garden of Eden, 15th century manuscript

The Garden of Eden, Paradise, the Promised Land, and the Land of Milk and Honey are ideal places in the past, present and future described in biblical texts. These names and idyllic qualities of these locations are incorporated into utopian art, literature, and communities.
This image depicts Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. It appeared in an early fifteenth-century manuscript of the history of the world from Creation through the Roman Empire.
